In response to the crucial importance of the Farmworker Freedom March, SFA has earmarked monies from our national budget to provide a limited number of scholarships for students and youth who might otherwise not be able to attend the march. Scholarships will be selected based on a number of factors, including the total number of march participants to benefit from funds from each community/geographic area.
Preference will be given to those planning to attend the entire march (Friday through Sunday, April 16 through April 18) and those who will be collectively organizing vans, carpools, caravans, or buses. This is to ensure that funds will be used toward maximizing participation, since typically many more people can travel by ground for the same amount that a much smaller group (or an individual) would travel by air.
To apply, please carefully and honestly fill out and submit the following form by Thursday, April 1st, 2010. Please have one point person apply for the entire group.
Individuals are also welcome to apply and will be given consideration if/when scholarship monies for groups are exhausted.
Fields marked with an asterisk are required.
